Cheeseburger Rice – What can I eat that’s gluten free?

What can I eat

Welcome to “What can I eat that’s gluten free?” formerly known as “What’s for dinner Wednesday.” It’s a weekly blog carnival that’s all about sharing gluten free eating ideas. Most weeks are focused on dinner ideas, but you’re welcome to share any gf food idea. You can read about the blog carnival changes here and the guidelines here.

This week I have another stovetop casserole type dish. It’s easy to make, and is usually a kid pleaser. I can’t remember where this recipe came from, so let me know if you have seen it elsewhere.

Cheeseburger Rice

Ingredientscheeseburger rice

Instructions

In a large skillet, brown the beef and sauté the onion. Drain. Add the catsup, mustard, salt and pepper and mix. Stir in the cooked rice and heat until hot through. Sprinkle the cheese over top, or mix it in.

Note: You might notice the orange bell pepper in my photo. I had some that needed to be used so I added it. It wasn’t bad, but I wouldn’t do it again. It’s just not a typical cheeseburger flavor.

I love one dish meals. Makes life easy on a hectic day. Here's the link to my post.

Living Without Wheat: Corn and Black Bean Salad.

That looks great! My Hubby and Biggest (the two in our household who eat dairy) would love that!

Mine is up! BLT Pasta Salad

My grandma used to make something similar to this and then cook it in a bell pepper. It was wonderful. She put tomatoes in hers and topped it with cheese. My hubby would love this one. Thanks for hosting!!

Looks good and it would be wonderful in a wrap...yummy!

That looks really good. I love peppers so I might keep that one for me. How are you liking the new linky? I've not had problems with Mr Linky using the gold account. I hope I won't have some on Friday. Can't wait to go check out what everyone shared today.

Sounds like my kind of weeknight meal! Sounds delicious :).

I'm sure my daughter would love this. It looks quick and easy which is an added bonus.
On a side note, I tried entering your website into my blog roll and the link won't work properly. I'm sure the problem is on my end, but I tried to correct it with no success. Your site is the only one that won't work, I'm not sure what the issue is.
