Gluten-Free Wednesdays 12/15/10

Gluten-Free Wednesdays2

Okay, I confess.  I was not able to visit all the links last week.  I really do try to, but the combination of more links than there used to be and the busyness of the holidays makes it more than I can do.  On top of that we have had a trial going on here that my family would rather I didn’t share with the world.  It doesn’t concern anyone’s health, but it has been emotionally challenging and time consuming. So even if you don’t get a comment from me, please, please know that all of you bloggers who participate in this weekly event are special to me.

Giveaway:  Today (Wednesday) is the last day to enter the Free for All Cooking cookbook giveaway.

Last Week’s Highlights: Here are the highlights from last week.  Each week I look for links that go along with the monthly challenge.  December’s challenge is to make a gluten-free cookie.
Soft Sugar Cookies from Loving Life’s Little Moments
Kokanee Squares (or circles) from Fresh Healthy Cooking
Thumbprint Cookies (two from one dough) from Sugar & Spice
Flourless Pecan Sandies from Gluten-Free Easily
Gingerbread Cookies from She Let Them Eat Cake
Candy Cane Cookies from Gluten Free Shortcuts
Guest Posts:  This week I have a guest post over at gluten free easily where I share my celiac story.  As I mentioned last week, I have several guest posts lined up for this blog in December.  This week Valerie shared Spicy Hot Chocolate.  Another guest post will be coming on Friday.

My Submission: Here is my cookie recipe.  I might have one more coming this month.  We’ll see.

Thumbprint Cookies (gluten & dairy free)

The Carnival:  If you’re new, please read the guidelines.  All entries must leave a link back.  Failure to do so could mean that your submission gets deleted.  Thanks for participating!

Looks like I'm first this week. How did that happen? I have my coconut pineapple macaroons which are very easy to make and would be good to take to a holiday party. -- genie

This week I am sharing one of my Edible homemade gift ideas - GF Almond Cherry Cookies

Hi Linda - Thanks for linking to my gingerbread cookies! I linked up my chocolate chip cookie dough truffles which also links to my GF Expo and Enjoy Life Cookies For Everyone giveaway. I hope that's okay!

Linda, I'm sending lots of virtual hugs your way. We don't need additional challenges any time, but especially during the holidays as we all know that they have plenty of challenges of their own.

Thanks for linking to your guest post again. :-) I hope lots of folks take the time to read it. I truly appreciate you sharing your story at gfe!

No cookies from me this week, but I linked up a Sweet & Crunchy Snack Mix (plus a more traditional one) that will satisfy the sweet and salty lovers. ;-)

Hugs,
Shirley

(((((Linda))))) Sending bunches of virtual hugs. I hate to hear that you're going through a roughpatch and hope that you and your family pull through to the other side soon.

Know that your blogland friends are hear for you if you need anything at all.

You're so sweet to comment on each and every entry when you can -- thank you so much for remembering the individuals behind the electronic blips we see on our screens. I hope the very best for your family this Christmas season!

I finally posted my favorite cookie in your December challenge--Oatmeal Spice with Dates and Pecans (GF and DF). I hope you like it :-)

I hope you get time to slow down and enjoy the holidays! Sorry you are going through a stressful time right now.
I linked to my recipe for GF Cornbread Stuffing With Chorizo.
It's easy to make and has lots of great Southwest flavors.
