Gluten-Free Wednesdays 6/23/10

Gluten-Free Wednesdays2

Welcome back to Gluten-Free Wednesdays.  Any gluten-free eating idea is welcome, but I’m keeping my eye out for burgers because of this month’s create a burger challenge.

Last week, Iris served up a great looking Basil Chickpea Burger

and Chaya delivered Blast Off Chicken Burgers.

I have been very delinquent regarding this month’s challenge.  I have made burgers a couple of times, but I have not experimented the way I had hoped to.  I did work at putting some extras into my hamburgers, though.  I don’t have an exact recipe, just a list of things I added to the ground beef before grilling the burgers.
I thought they were very good. My family scarfed them down and barely noticed a difference, though.  I was out of gluten-free buns and ate mine with lettuce.  Sometimes I really enjoy a hamburger on a good bun, but often I’m happy to go without the extra carbs.  How do you like to eat your burgers?

Make sure you don’t miss this week’s cookie dough giveaway

I am excited about these rice stick noodles. They tasted great in the sauce and it was gluten free soy sauce. I hope people who have not used this, will give it a try.

I've been just as bad on the burger challenge and they're one of my favorites. This weeks post is GF Venison Steak.....Thanks for hosting!

Even without the recipe, that burger looks delicious!

Oops, forgot to add the name of the dish in with the name of my blog. Sorry! I am linking to Gluten Free Penne with Chicken and Pesto. :)

I like to eat my burger sans bun, with a fork and knife. I just make a salad out of the usual burger topping.

I linked up my new recipe, Blackened Black Bean Burgers. I can't believe how good they are. Thanks for all your challenges, Linda. They do expand our horizons quite a bit, and a delicious bit at that! ;-)

I agree ... that burger looks awesome! And, I'm perfectly happy with no bun on my burger. To be honest, I think buns have hidden a lot of bad burgers over the years. With the bread factor, one doesn't realize the lack of quality in many burgers. I've been surprised at how few burgers (burgers in restaurants and pre-made ones you can buy) I've actually wanted to eat without the bun.

Great burger idea. We had a winner for tonight's dinner that I will share soon. I'm back in circulation now that our exchange student is safely home and I have more time.

Sorry, I did not mean to enter myself 4 times here. I'm not sure what I did to be 16-19.

Hi Linda - Tracee at Mrs. Ed's Research suggested I enter my Vegetarian Burger Recipe. I think I made an error entering, in any event, my post is on http://glutenfreedelightfullydelicious.com All of those recipes look wonderful! Ina
