Rudi’s Gluten-Free Bread Review & Giveaway
By now you have probably heard of, if not tried Rudi’s gluten-free bread. They offer three varieties—original, multigrain, and cinnamon raisin. Rudi’s is one of the few companies who have taken gluten-free bread to the next level. While the bread may not be as soft as a gluten-filled bread, it is much better than gluten-free breads of the past. My son has used the multigrain bread at times for taking sandwiches to school. The bread holds up, it’s not too dry, and it is reasonably soft.
I haven’t tested how long this bread lasts when kept out a room temperature. I buy it frozen and keep it in the freezer. At night one of us removes two pieces and puts them in a baggie so they are thawed and ready for sandwich making in the morning. This has worked well for us.
The cinnamon raisin bread is a nice treat if you miss that. I also keep it in the freezer and simply break off one piece at a time as needed. It’s good plain or toasted, and I enjoy a slice with my morning eggs.
For information on the safety of Rudi’s gluten-free bread, visit their How We Make It - Our Gluten-Free Certification page. Here is a quote:
"As an added step to making sure we’re baking products that are safe and do not contain gluten, Rudi’s Gluten-Free breads are certified gluten-free and carry the recognizable Gluten Free Certification Organization (GFCO) GF Symbol. "You will also find a $1 off coupon on that page and other pages of their site.
The Giveaway
One winner will receive five (5) “Free Product” coupons which I just realized expire on February 28, 2011. Rudi’s provided these coupons, but I will be mailing them out. Please only enter if you will be able to use the coupons by the end of the month. You can search for where to buy Rudi’s here. I believe their products are only sold in the Continental US so I am limiting the giveaway to those residents.
To enter, you must leave a comment on this post. If you receive this post by email, you need to click over to my blog and leave a comment. Leave a separate comment for each entry. Please include an email address in your first comment. Up to four entries per person:
- Tell me if you have tried Rudi’s bread and how you like it.
- Subscribe to my feed via RSS or email (or tell me you already do)
- Like me on Facebook (or tell me you already do)
- Follow me on Twitter (or tell me you already do)
Disclaimer: Rudi’s provided me with a free loaf of bread and free product coupons. The opinions in this post are my own.

I have not tried Rudi's bread but have been told it is definitely up there with Udi's! :) randomcash05@gmail.com
Liked you on Facebook! G-f convenience foods can be so expensive, I usually go without. This would mean a real treat :D
And thanks to their location-finder, I just learned that Cape Canaveral is within 50 miles of my house. Cool!

I recently tried Rudi's bread for the first time. I love it. In particular, I loved that fact that, unlike Udi's bread, it doesn't have huge holes in the middle of the loaf. Much better for sandwich making when your ingredients don't fall out of the center of the slice.

I have tried the Rudi's cinnamon raisin bread. It was the best French toast I've had since being diagnosed. I won't even buy the Glutino brand anymore!

I have not tried Rudi's (or any other) gluten free breads before. I miss sandwiches and toast very much, but I don't have the money to spend on a $6 loaf of bread I might not like. I would love to be able to try it though! (pagan[dot]overton[at]gmail.com)
Thank you again for the opportunity to try and win GF products!! We all know how much these products cost, it would be like winning a small lottery, lol. I usually bake my own bread, and do without if I do not have time to bake it myself.

The frozen breads I have tried, have been quite frankly, nasty!! I'd love to try breads that have a good recommendation and don't fall apart when bitten into :).

It would be worth the trip to Whole Foods if I won the Rudi's free bread, I have not tried theirs yet. I also follow your blog and your facebook page.
Thanks!!

I like Rudi's the best of the store-bought gluten-free breads that I can get locally. I have only tried the multigrain since I don't like raisins and prefer not to eat white bread.

Though I have seen Rudi's, I haven't tried it. My son & I like the Udi's. My first thought about Rudi's was it was someone trying to "immitate" Udi's being the name so similar. But after reading the posts.. I am definitaly going to buy a loaf of white & the cinn raisin soon.

Just bought my first loaf of Rudi's bread yesterday because it was onsale. I got the multigrain. It made great toast. I would definitely buy this again.
I actually just tried some this weekend!!! My hubs bought me some for Valentine's Day. :) I LOVED their bread and I'd love to win some more
We have tried some gluten free in the past and have not liked them. We have never tried Rudi's and would like to. We have been using rice cakes.
I just found out I have celiac disease and am trying to figure out which brands of GF foods I like. It seems a bit overwhelming and expensive at times. I haven't tried Rudi's bread, but would like to do so. I have subscribed to your RSS feed via Google reader, as well as FB and twitter. My email is: aplusb2010@gmail.com. :-)
I have heard about this bread for months, and they finally got some in at one of our local health food stores. We bought the cinnamon raisin and loved it, and are going to get the others as well. It's a lovely soft bread right out of the bag, but I also just left out what we would use in two days and froze the rest. I subscribe to your site and am glad you wrote about the bread. I am even happier that I have tried it. Gluten eating husband liked it too.
I follow you on Facebook. I have never tried Udi's before and would love to. I miss cinnamon and raisin bread. mparent1@yahoo.com
I have not tried Rudi's yet, but I am looking forward to - to compare to Udi's. Happy to know there are 2 brands of bread with such great reviews!

I have not tried Rudi's bread but we have a fantastic GF store (Saffrons)that has it. Am following you on Twitter. Thanks Dee
I haven't tried Rudi's yet. I always make our own bread, but it's nice to have some in the freezer for those times when life gets too busy. I'd love to share them with my in-laws who have just embarked on the gluten-free diet. Bread is their biggest obstacle in following a strict GF diet.
OMG- this is the best GF bread ever made! I especially love the multigrain - I now crave sandwiches instead of forcing myself to eat them! And next to taste, the best part is that the bread does not fall apart! Yummy!
I really enjoy Rudi's because they provide loaves that are a bit larger, which then allows for bigger slices, and bigger sandwiches. Not that I like huge sandwiches, but I always debated making 2 with other breads, which sometimes was too much. ~ Melanie

Rudi's is, hands-down, the BEST g-f bread I've tried. I feel like I'm cheating when I eat it.

I love Rudis! I keep it in the freezer and take it out in the morning to make my sandwich. By lunch its perfect. And the slices are nice and big. I would certainly use the coupons - I buy it as much as possible.
My son loves Rudi's as a second to homemade bread. It is larger in size than some of the others which I appreciate and is 50 cents cheaper where I am from. kellykeur@yahoo.com Thanks!!!

I was just diagnosed w/gluten issues...so I'm researching & educating myself on how to deal with this. I'd love to give your bread(s) a try...since I *love* bread and am going to be struggling not to eat it. :-(
