Gluten-Free Wednesdays 1/5/11

Gluten-Free Wednesdays2

RSS and Email Subscribers:  I thought I would start with a note to my subscribers.  Gluten-Free Wednesdays is a great resource for finding gluten-free recipes, but you must click on the post and visit my blog to see the entries.  Entries are added through Thursday, so you may need to come back more than once.  I hope you will take advantage of this weekly roundup.
Welcome to the first Gluten-Free Wednesday of 2011!  The carnival was a big success in 2010 and I look forward to continuing in the new year.

Monthly Challenge:  I plan on continuing with the monthly challenges at least for the first part of this year.  If you haven’t seen it yet, January’s challenge is to make a gluten-free biscuit.  I’ll be highlighting biscuit recipes starting next week.

Last Week’s Highlights:  This is the final cookie challenge highlight, and we had several delicious looking cookie entries last week.
Chocolate Sambuca Cookies from Andrea’s Kitchen
Molasses Spice Cookies from The Daily Dietribe
Double Chocolate Oatmeal & Chocolate Mint Brownie Cookies from Seven Sisters
Chocolate Chunk Pecan Squares from She Let Them Eat Cake
Recipe Contest:  I posted yesterday about the Everyday Health gluten-free recipe contest. There is a great prize, so think about entering.

My Submission:  I’m submitting a very simple but delicious recipe this week.

The Carnival:  If you’re new, please read the guidelines.   It would be great if everyone who participates would visit at least a few other links and leave a comment.  Thanks for participating!

Let me just say yum, yum, yum ... my mouth is watering with what you've shared and the photos so far! I'm being totally obnoxious and linking up three posts, some of the last few from my 25 Days of Christmas events--reviews and one recipe. :-)

Happy 2011, Linda! Hoping that there'll be so much happiness and fun for you this year ... and that some of it will include me! ;-)

Oh, it all looks so beautiful. I have missed you all so much! I am very excited about this months challenge! I have yet to make a southern style buttermilk biscuit that stands up to my picky palate. Maybe this time will be the charm!

Of all things to bake gluten-free, biscuits may be one of the most difficult. What a good idea for a challenge so we can share some of the best with each other!

Happy 2011!
Pat

Happy 2011 Linda! Thanks so much for sharing my Squares this week. I look forward to many more Gluten-Free Wednesdays in 2011!

Starting the new year off by losing track of Wednesday. Here's to another year of great gluten-free food with the Gluten-Free Homemaker and all her friends. Thanks for providing a place to gather and share.
