Cookie Dough Review & Giveaway

060410094453_GF-ChocolateChunk_-_resize[1]

Immaculate Baking Company, a company that makes All Natural and Organic lines of Ready-to-Bake doughs, now offers gluten-free, dairy-free cookie dough!  They have one variety—chocolate chunk, and they sent me free samples to review for you.

Before agreeing to do product reviews, I always ask about manufacturing practices to avoid cross contamination.  This is the information I was given:

After a full wash down to sanitize our machinery, we conduct a swab test to ensure it is negative for wheat and dairy. We do not store the gluten-free ingredients at the facility and instead bring them in when machinery is ready for production. We also isolate the production so no wheat products are in the vicinity while we're running the gluten free doughs. Finally, we always conduct a gluten and dairy test on the final dough before moving forward with packaging. Our packaging is kept in a gluten-free area until used.

We also meet the standards of the Gluten-Free Certification Organization and proudly display the symbol on our package.
The Cookies:

The dough arrives in a styrofoam box with cold packs and should be refrigerated as soon as possible.  Each package contains twelve cookie dough chunks like this:

Baking cookies couldn’t be easier!  Just put them on an ungreased tray and bake them.  The cookies do not spread much and turn out thick and soft.   We really liked them.  I was thrilled when I learned they were dairy free, but I did miss that buttery taste.  My youngest son said, “Yours are better.”  But then I told him these were dairy free and I have not yet made any dairy free cookies.  Then he understood, and he still enjoyed eating them.  I like a thick soft cookie, but if you want yours thinner you could probably just flatten out the dough and maybe divide it.

The Giveaway:

One winner will be randomly selected to receive two packs of gluten-free cookie dough.  To enter, leave a comment on this post (please do not send an email) telling me your favorite type of cookie or if you have a favorite gluten-free cookie brand.  The giveaway will end Friday, June 25th at 11:59 p.m. eastern time.  The winner will be contacted by email so be sure to leave your address in the comment if your name is not linked to a blog where I can reach you.  The winner will have 24 hours to respond before I pick a new winner.  When I have heard back from the winner, I will announce it on Facebook.

My favorite gluten free mix are the Betty Crocker chocolate chip cookies. Of course, homemade chocolate chip cookies are even better!

Chocolate chip is my favorite right now (my favorite keeps changing). I'd love to give these a try.

Ooohhh...this company (Immaculate) has sold at Costco in the past and I bought their chocolate mint cookies at Christmas last year. Most of them didn't even get baked because the dough was so delicious....well, we couldn't resist. They were not gf however so my son couldn't eat them. My son and I have made several batches of gf cookies though. There is a great gf oreo recipe on recipezaar that we have made twice. We has also made thumbprint cookies and meringues. The meringues were so easy and a big hit with my 3 year old son. He said he was easting clouds.

I've never tried a gluten free cookie before but I'm willing to win it & try it. I'm diabetic so these would be healthier for me as well. directorylanesuperstoreATgmail.com

My favorite gluten free cookies are Pamela's mini chocolate chip and double chocolate chip. They're the only ones I've tasted so far that come close to the "real deal". I'd love to try Immaculate's and see if they can compete!

Wow, my gosh, those look heavenly. My mouth is watering. I love chocolate chip cookies! I've actually never bought gluten free cookies before, I can't find them where I love. So this would be a real treat. :)

My favorite cookie is the classic chocolate chip, and I love Betty Crocker's mix!

ALL cookies are good, but of course I do love a chocolate chip oatmeal peanut butter one the most....and sometimes even throw coconut in.

My favorite GF cookies so far are Pamela's Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chunk.

I make homemade chocolate chip gf/df cookies...YUM!

Pamela's Pecan Shortbread cookies are my favorite!

I love any cookie with chocolate! Chocolate chip cookies (made DF with enjoy life chips and earth balance butter) are my current fave.
When I do buy cookies, I enjoy Pamela's chocolate chunk or pecan cookies.
These look so easy and yummy!

Wow, this is exciting. Oatmeal are my favorites. Sigh. I've been able to make an oatmeal cookie gf, but don't feel it has been perfected yet. I use the certified gluten free oats, which haven't had any problem with them. My daughter is VERY sensitive to cross contamination.

My whole family is gluten free except my 2nd child who doesn't seem to need to be but since we all are she eats like that plus she is the only one that can't do dairy now. Last night she was crying because she has figured out that dairy free is SOOO... much harder than gluten free. I felt so bad. I know it is hard. So this morning I open my email and I see these cookies. OMG, I was so excited. I hope that Whole Foods is gonna carry them because these GF, DF cookies would make her sooo happy!! Looking forward to trying them for her!

Oops I forgot to leave my favorite cookie. We just tried Pamela's chocolate chip mix and we love it. It doesn't make very much especially for a family of 8 but it is good. Also, we make peanut butter and jelly cookies. I found the recipe on glutenfreeda.com years ago and it makes alot and everyone (even my non-gf friends) loves them!

My favorite kinds of cookies are peanut butter chocolate chip! But I'm new to needing to eat wheat-free and haven't had any cookies in months because of this.

I love chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin, but truly, I'm a fan of just about any cookie. I haven't made any dairy-free, yet...I wonder how you get that buttery taste without butter? I know there's Earth Balance Buttery Sticks, but I guess I'm leary of putting a "processed" ingredient in my food, other than on an exception basis. Maybe boosting some other flavors will make us forget about butter? Hmm...

I used to love making toblerone-chunk cookies, and white chocolate macadamia nut. MMmmm.. But I haven't found any really delicious glute free cookies like them. I mostly make biscotti now, which is fine with the gluten free flours. These, however, look AMAZING.

We are new to being GF and can't wait to try your cookies, our favorite kind is Chocolate Chip!

My fav. cookies are chocolate, chocolate chip!

Before going gluten-free, I used to make huge batches of DIY cookie dough, which we would customize with whatever add-ins we liked. I love chocolate [any type]-and-nuts cookies [walnuts, pecans, almonds macadamia]...any kind! My kids love snickerdoodles [cinnamon sugar], chocolate chip, and peanut butter. My husband's favorite: "Cookies? You baked cookies?! I'll get the milk!"

Chocolate chip is definitely my favorite cookie, and The Cravings Place gluten free chocolate chip cookie mix is the best! You can make it dairy free if you want, too. I usually freeze half of the dough for snacking ( I love the raw dough) and bake the other half. Yummo!

My sister makes the best Chocolate Chip cookies with Pamela's mix and I believe Enjoy brand choco chips that are casine free but since yours are dairy free I would be inclined to try them since I am not supposed to eat that as well.

My family of 13 are all gluten-free and we try to be
dairy(cow)-free most of the time. Chcolate chip cookies are great!

Wondering if the dough is egg free? My 6-year-old son has only been gf/df/ef for a month. It's hard to find a good cookie without all three. Would love to try these if they don't have egg.

Iced or frosted sugar cookies any time of the year!

hmmm .. let me see if there's a cookie I don't like? My current favorite is Pamela's Lemon Shortcake. I have been buying Newman Own's GF oreo-type cookie but haven't been able to find them for weeks now - wondering if they've stopped making them.

My favorite is simple chocolate chip with walnuts. I just found your blog of printable gluten free recipes and I have to thank you...I fell like I'm in Heaven..Your printable recipes are simple and I can't wait to try them. I feel for the first time that maybe I could do this gluten free, dairy free, corn and soy free thing. Thank you for all the help. God Bless.

I love chocolate chip cookies!!

It is great to have companies that use organic and natural products. I bake gf at home, and usually with anything store bought, my son resonates your son's comments, that homemade is better, but that was true when I was a kid and didn't know about needing to be GF. My mom's homemade cakes and cookies were always better than store made. It can be very helpful, especially with kids, when you don't have time to bake, to have a product like this in the freezer. I try to always have substitute treats for my son with school and friend activities. I'd love to try their cookies for such occasions.

Thanks for the review.

Yum--these sound delicious!! My favorite is chocolate chip and I love to bake and have been struggling to find gluten free, dairy free--just recently found out I have a sensitivity. I would love to try these out!!

Thanks!

I've been looking at the immaculate cookies every time I go into the natural food store, thinking they look like they should be gluten free, but aren't! I'm so glad they have a gluten free one now! My fave cookie? So hard to pick just one, but I love molasses cookies. And shortbread cookies.
