Party Food – What can I eat that’s gluten free?

What can I eat
The theme of this week’s carnival is party food.  I hope you will join in and share a link to a gluten-free  appetizer, drink, or even main dish that you like to prepare for holiday parties.  A theme is always a suggestion, though, any gluten-free food ideas are welcome.  If this is your first time participating, you can read the guidelines here.

With the holidays upon us, many of us will be attending or hosting parties.  One nice thing about taking food to share at a party is that you can ensure it is gluten free, and then enjoy something that everyone else is eating.  When I do this, I often put some of the food in a separate container that I can use as my stash, rather than worrying about contamination.  Here is one of my favorite drinks:

Warm Fruit Punch

Ingredients
8 c. water
12 oz. frozen cran-raspberry juice concentrate, thawed
12 oz. frozen orange juice, thawed
6 oz. frozen lemonade, thawed
1/4 c. sugar
4 cinnamon sticks
1/4 tsp. cloves
orange slices

Instructions
Combine all ingredients in the crockpot. Heat on high for 3 hours, then turn to low. Remove the spices. (I use a tea ball for the cloves.) Garnish with orange slices. If you have a keep warm setting that would be perfect for serving the punch. It's so easy!

A few more of my favorite party foods include:

cran-apple salsa

Oh, my! That warm fruit punch sounds delicious, and it does sound easy. Thanks for the recipe!

I can tell that punch is great, Linda! I love some of these other options you have given us, too. Wish we could all get together for a real party! ;-)

I shared a "spiked" punch. It's delicious for people over 21 with designated drivers or for those spending the night. :-)

I have not been able to keep up with specific themes...so sorry. If you want you can delete my link. I missed last week because of the holiday so I was out of the loop.

I linked up what I do to prep for the month - which saves me tons of time - everything goes much smoother this way. Then, I have time for what I want to do. Thanks for hosting - this is always a carnival I look forward to.

This week I made crackers, which are perfect for parties, because they go with dip! And they're great to snack on =D.

This fruit punch sounds great!

I will have to try the warm Fruit Punch recipe. Thinking I will make it for our GF event this month. Thank you for the recipe.
