Gluten-Free Cookbook Giveaway

This giveaway has ended.

Having a giveaway sounds like lots of fun so I thought I'd give it a try. I love to help people discover that a gluten-free diet can be delicious, and if you already know that, I'd love to help you discover more great recipes. I'm eager for as many people as possibly to enter the drawing so I'm opening it to anyone worldwide. I'm also offering a choice of one out of four possible cookbooks. If you already have all four of them then you probably don't need another. Just kidding! You can make a suggestion of a different similarly priced gluten-free cookbook that you would like to win. I'm flexible with this because I will order the book and have it shipped directly to the winner. Without further ado, here are the choices:

1. Gluten-Free Quick & Easy by Carol Fenster
2. Cooking Free by Carol Fenster
3. The Gluten-free Gourmet Makes Dessert by Bette Hagman
4. The Gluten-Free Gourmet Cooks Fast and Healthy by Bette Hagman

You can enter the drawing by leaving a comment and telling me either:
1. Something about yourself and why you cook gluten-free OR
2. What you like or dislike about this blog, recipes or information you would like me to write about, or if you've tried any of the recipes

Please leave a way for me to contact you such as a link to your blog (if it has a link to your email) or an email address. Most people list an email address something like this: glutenfreehomemaker AT verizon DOT net.

One entry per person. The giveaway will end at midnight (eastern time) on Friday which is technically 12 am Saturday. I will contact and announce the winner on Saturday!

For more great giveaways, visit Bloggy Giveaways Quarterly Carnival.

My friend recently suggested I go gluten-free b/c it was helping her husband's auto-immune issues and she thought it would help me too. It's been a little tough not to cheat! I wonder if a cookbook would help?

My good friends son was just diagnosed with many different allergies. He will be eating a gluten free diet and I think this book would help her out so much.

I actually hope to win this for a friend who needs to eat a gluten free diet. I think this would really help her out.

While we haven't gone gluten-free (though my husband & I are considering trying it for my health problems) there are so many people being diagnosed with gluten issues -- even in our families! I feel at a loss how to cook for these individuals, so a cookbook would be a blessing. :)

I would love to win this for a friend who just found out that her son needs to be on a gluten-free diet.

My nephew was just diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome and his mom is trying this kind of diet. This would be a great blessing to win

After many years of stomach issues I have switched to a gluten and dairy free diet- my stomach issues have stopped. I would love to win this!

My little sister was diagnosed with celiac disease a year ago, and she has a very hard time cutting wheat out of her diet. I would love to win this for her. We cook gluten free pasta often, but it gets boring. I would love more pasta recipes or dessert recipes. Thank you sooo much!
I'll be bookmarking this site for my sis.

I actually do not cook gluten-free, but I have a friend that cooks exclusive GFCF meals in her home; she would love this cookbook, so if I won, I would give it to her.

When I switched to gluten free foods, I don't get that bloated or tired, sluggish feeling I used to get from regular breads and grains that have gluten in them. My son does better on gluten free foods, too.

Thanks!

The longer I'm around, the more people I know with gluten issues. My sister-in-law's husband, my brother's wife, a good friend and her 2 kids. I'd love to be able to cook for them more!

I'd love the gluten free quick and easy for when I need to cook for a good friend! Thanks for hosting this.

I cook GF because I feel better! This sounds like good fun, and I'm glad to learn about your blog

I am new to cooking gluten free because I was just diagnosed two months ago. Unfortunatly, I was so sick at that point I had to take a leave of absence from my medical schooling in order to get better. So I'm just sitting at home learning how to cook with my mom for a couple of months. Thank goodness for blogs like yours!

I have a friend who struggles with eating gluten-free. I just thought I'd give it a shot and enter on their behalf. :)

My 6 year old daughter was finally diagnosed with CD after many years of misery. I'm still feeling guilty for "poisoning" her and am looking for ways to substitute for some of her favorites that have been taken away. Am not having much luck finding good baking recipes so far. Thanks for the chance to get new ideas.

I've changed my diet and i find that eating and feeding my family a glueten free foods has helped us a lot. We've also tried very hard to rid ourselves of hfcs.

Thanks for a generous giveaway. I hope I'm the lucky winner. We'd love this.

I'm learning more about gluten-free diets because my good friend is allergic to wheat... I'd honestly love to win this book more for her benefit, but also to borrow some recipes myself :)

Perfect timing. I have JUST discovered that wheat gluten is what has been causing my tummy to swell this past year. The why to finding was slow and hard. Limit diet to a few pure foods and ever 3 days introduce ONE new food item.

The blood tests say no but the tummy says NO way.

thank you.

I have celiac disease and I am just starting to learn about how careful I need to be. I could really use a cookbook! Thanks for the great chance to win. chattyhousewife(at)gmail.com

I am fairly new to the (hardcore) blogging world, and we have been doing gluten/casein free since May for my little boy. He is seriously a completely different little guy!!!

I cook Gluten Free for my 2 1/2 year old son who has Celiac Disease. It was hard at first, but now I take it as a challenge! I LOVE new recipes!

You suggested I check out your blog recently over at SillyYaks and I came over here and found a giveaway going on! Yay! I added you and will be avidly reading!

My whole family is gf as myself and my two girls are gluten intolerant. A recipe book would be a huge help to budgeting and meal planning, so why not enter?

You can reach me at becky DOT dragonladyjax AT gmail DOT com.

I'm also at http://seasonchanging.blogspot.com/

I don't cook gluten-free yet, but I recently married and my husband is somewhat intolerant to wheat, so I've considered trying. A cookbook would be particularly useful as I explore that.
Thanks!

Linda - I recently just started perusing the Celiac blog groups & have found that yours is very helpful. I was diagnosed with Celiac when I was around 6 months old, but have just recently graduated from college & moved out of my parents house. I decided that I should start to cook better & eat out less/eat less junk. I think having a condensed gluten-free cookbook would be very helpful (along with your website & many others listing recipes).

Thank you so much for offering this type of giveaway!

My daughter was diagnosed four years ago with CD.
This month I was told to also eat GF b/c of gluten sensitivity issues.

So, I'd love to have more ideas of things to cook! Especially since I'm having to be gf now!

We aren't gluten-free, but have friends who are, and like to be able to accommodate them. Also, gluten-free cookbooks are great for providing higher-protein bread options, and for utilizing a variety of grains.

My mom has been gluten free for about 2 years after suffering horrible orthopedic pain. I try desperately to cook for her when she visits but am always questioned about my ingredients. I am hoping a cookbook will help!

I have had celiac disease my whole life...I am now 27 years old. I have learned to deal with so many different things while eating gluten-free. I absolutely love your blog because it is a support to me because I can relate to someone out there and come up with some new ideas for cooking. I recently had a baby (7 months) and am trying to figure out if I am feed him gluten or not. Thank you for having this website!

I am currently attempting to go gluten free (without much success) because I'm finding that the longer I go without wheat in my diet, the better my bladder feels. I've been to several different doctors and been told that it's all in my head. But when I go even mostly gluten free, the issues seem to mostly disappear as well.

My aunt went gluten-free and many of her health problems abated, so I am very interested in trying it. The first cookbook looks the most interesting to me. Thanks!

My 21 month old daughter seems to break out in hives from wheat - or gluten - we aren't sure. So we do gluten free food for her. I would love a gluten free cookbook for more ideas on what to make for her!! Thanks!

I love your blog!! I cook GF and CF due to food intolerances in both my son and I. I am still learning your blog encourages me to eat things that still taste good instead of store bought stuff.

We are just starting a gf diet after my husband and 3 children were diagnosed w/celiac. One of these cookbooks would be great! :D

I am new to GF cooking, because of allergies and leaky gut. I love to cook, and I love finding new ideas or new recipes to try. It can be frustrating and disappointing, though, when it seems like so many of them call for flour or grains. So I was very thankful to find your blog! I'd be very excited to win a GF cookbook, too. :)

Thanks,

Michelle

I have been GF for two years now. I have all the symptoms of CD but the endoscopy didn't show enough intestinal damage to be declared CD so as my drs like to say I "self-diagnosed." But I feel a 100 times better so they can roll their eyes all they want.

One of my children suffers from behavior problems caused by food intolerances. Gluten is one of the things we have eliminated in the past and I think we need to go back again but I'm scared because I find it so hard. Maybe a cookbook would help me with ideas?!

my sister's mother in law has siliac disease and I would give it to her.

Hi! I'm new to your blog, just found it on the GF news aggregator. I'm a celiac and actually so is most of my direct family...but as a new graduate student, I'm having to depend on my own cooking instead of mom's or the dining hall's (actually had a very good experience in college) for the first time, so I'm always looking for new, simple recipes.

Our good friends have a 5 year old that has celiac's and they are always struggling to find tasty gluten free recipies- I'd love to win the dessert cookbook to give to them!

Thanks so much for the AWE-some Give-oh-Way!

Thank you so much for helping the gluten free community. I too, help others by running a gf ministry in my area. I do this on my own & with my own funds. I have helped hundreds of newly dx'd plus bring the most updated info to my attendees each mouth. At present I'm writing to cookbook authors to donate a cookbook for a gf library for this group. The only help I get is when bakers/vendors/ share their goodies/ books . The lord has lead me on this mission & I'm proud to be a part of his grand plan.
Through him all things are possible. I would love to have a carol fenster cookbook for the group. This would touch many people.blessings

I was just diagnosed with Celiac Disease in July of this year. Although it can be frustrating at times, I've actually had a lot of fun getting back into the kitchen and "relearning" how to cook.

I like that your blog isn't just about cooking gluten free, but that you also gives tips and tricks for the home/kitchen!

My neice and godchild has Celiac diease. Whenever she comes to visit I like to try to cook gluten free so that she doesn't have to feel excluded.

My mom was just diagnosed with Celieac diseas (at the age of 49). She has set Monday as her day to go "gluten free." I know she would treasure a cookbook to help make the transition easier.

While I do not cook gluten-free, I desperately want to win thsi for my best friend. recently, at 25 years old, she found out she is allergic to gluten. She kept having sickness and swelling problems and wrote it off to the smoker who lived below her. But even when she moved it happened. No doctors could say what was wrong with her. She went to visit a relative in Maine who instantly said: "You're allergic to gluten!" She went gluten-free for a week and sure enough, nothing happened! She's trying to live gluten-free now, but after 25 years, it's hard. I still forget and offer her bread. :( I think this would benefit her greatly, and I'd love to give it to her. How fantastic! Thank you for this giveaway; I hope I win :)

We are considering becoming gluten-free. We have been taking a hard look at our foods for health reasons and this is one of the main things we have been looking at but I don't know where to begin. A cookbook may be just the thing to get us started.

My good friend's son just recently went gluten free and is doing so well now! She would love this prize.

My husband's grandmother is gluten intolerant and I would love to get the dessert cookbook to make some special treats for her! So often at family gatherings she has to eat rice ice cream while the rest of us get the "good stuff". :)

My favourite book, the one that would come in most handy would be, Gluten-Free Quick & Easy. About a month ago I was diagnosed and told to follow a gluten free diet. I would like to be able to learn to cook meals for the entire family.

Your blog is brilliant and bookmarked as a resource I shall use often. Thank you.

This summer I realized that I am gluten intolerant. If only I'd known that earlier! I'm still learning how to cook my own gluten free food. I've found some stores around here that sell GF mixes, and I've been eating a lot of those. I'd love to be able to cook my own recipes though!

Thanks for this giveaway!
